The Mighty Duck Blues Band`s long time home base has new owners, new name, new menu and new look. St. Catharines, Ontario, say hello and welcome Coco Bar, Mexican Grill. The band plays on.
The current MDBB lineup presents guitarist Teddy Leonard, pianist Lorraine Ingle with founding members Jim Casson drums and Gary Kendall bass.
The Mighty Duck Blues Band has collaborated with Denise Curry to establish The Dave Curry Memorial Music Fund honouring the legacy of the late Dave Curry, the band`s founder and guitarist. The memorial fund will provide financial support for music programs in the Niagara region and southern Ontario.
In June 2024 a DCMMF scholarship was presented to Laura Secord Secondary School graduate, Ayla Jamal. Two of Dave Curry`s guitars and one from MDBB sound tech Francis Oliver were also donated to the Laura Secord S.S. Music Program at that time. In November 2024 DCMMF added financial support to Laura Secord SS. to purchase instruments and supplies for the music program. The Mighty Duck Blues Band is encouraging their fans and supporters to donate musical instruments that aren`t being used to the Laura Secord S.S. Music Program.
In early 2025 DCMMF made a financial donation to assist London, Ontario`s Joel Dupius Band`s participation at The International Blues Challenge in Memphis TN USA on Jan. 7-11.
